Natural Colors: Melissa Imossi and Iacopo Pasquinelli

 

Left Bank Gallery Essex, LLC presents a joint exhibition, “Natural Colors: Melissa Imossi and Iacopo Pasquinelli” featuring a series of delicate florals and organic forms by Melissa Imossi and panoramic landscapes for which Iacopo Pasquinelli is best known. Often painting side by side with similar color palettes, both artists maintain in their paintings individual styles and personal touches. Soft and serene, their paintings combine old master techniques with modern sensibility. “Natural Colors” highlights their insight into nature and the beauty of the natural world.

Melissa Imossi was born in Long Island in 1969. She studied at the Art Students League in New York and at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence Italy. Imossi has been awarded several notable honors. In 2008, she was juried into the National Association of Women Artists and most recently she won an “Award of Merit” from Joan Young, curator of the Guggenheim Museum. Melissa Imossi’s recent paintings focus on the simplicity and elegance of organic forms. The artist says, “My paintings express tranquil moments in our chaotic world and the beauty of everyday”.

Iacopo Pasquinelli was born in Florence Italy in 1964. He began designing as a child and continued with formal studies in the studio of painter Tiziano Bonanni. Now residing in Long Island, NY, Pasquinelli paints the coastal area of the northeast. He is awed by the interplay of the coast and the horizon, where the land and the water flow directly into the sky. Pasquinelli has gained recognition and praise for his work. Most recently he was awarded a “Best New Entry in Fine Arts” award at the 43^rd annual outdoor art show at the esteemed Gallery North in Setauket, NY. His work has been described as “lyrical” and “poetic”.
