Alegria
Alegria was created to showcase the work of a diverse and remarkably talented group of artists and craftspeople.
Alegria practices fair trade. We buy directly from the artists at the prices they ask, help them understand the U. S. markets, and ensure they use safe work practices.
Alegria supports the arts and the artists. We treat the artists we champion with dignity, and offer them hope for the future and a better life for their families. Equally important, we keep our prices affordable so everyone can own original art, and the artists can sell more of their work.
Alegria artists combine sustainable materials with high-end style. Raw materials are very dear in Brazil.
Our artists use recycled materials whenever possible, and all packaging materials are environmentally friendly.
Alegria is a charitable organization. We donate 100% of all after-tax profits to an organization that provides health care and schooling to Brazilian children in need.
Alegria’s artists include: Luciano Sacramento (soapstone sculpture and functional art), Antonio Carlos and Paulo Molinari (Brazilian Murano Glass), Nilson de Assisi (Jewelry).
