Artist: Ginga (aka Kay Bagwell)
Ginga
Kay Bagwell, known in the artist’s world as ‘Ginga’ started her career in photography over twenty five years ago. Her career began when she became interested in professional wedding photography. After several years she expanded into the golf industry working for the LPGA, PGA and Senior PGA tour events. She currently has a school portrait business as well as many private clients. She has traveled extensively around the country for both professional and personal pursuits. Several years ago she expanded her artistry into the world of painting in acrylic, oil and watercolor. Under the careful guidance of her aunt, an accomplished painter, she continues to develop her style and artistry. With the opportunity to combine her photo and artistic skills into this new blend of art the creation of her paintings has evolved.
The artist paintings that are displayed at the Left Bank Gallery were created through a new art method combining true photographic expression with traditional art painting techniques.
The artist’s tools are ‘virtual’ paintbrushes that turn these original photos into an artists’ rendition. After creating the artist effect that is desired the finished piece is rendered archival on canvas. After each painting is completed, Ginga hand paints brushstrokes with acrylic paint to accentuate and enhance each original art piece.
