Artist: Iacopo Pasquinelli
Iacopo Pasquinelli was born in 1964 in Florence, Italy. He began designing as a child and continued to draw and paint as an adult. He studied for two years at the studio of painter Tiziano Bonanni and later continued to paint in his own studio, experimenting with different painting techniques to achieve desired moods. Inspired by the majestic beauty of the Mugello region of Tuscany, Iacopo has recently painted the Mugello Series, which includes landscapes of the area near his summer home, an area that continues to fascinate and move him. Iacopo has recently moved to New York, where he continues to exhibit his works in shows and competitions.
Iacopo captures the essence of a landscape by potraying his first impressions of the scene. He believes that the emotional response to a scene is made at first sight, before the eyes can make out the details in the particulars. He mixes his colors directly on the painting surface, which gives his paintings a certain brilliancy and transparency.
Iacopo has won recognition and praise for his artwork. His work is said to be “lyrical”, to have “poetical authority” and “subtle luminosity”. Most recently Iacopo received the “Best New Artist” award at the 43rdAnnual Outdoor Art Show at the esteemed Gallery North in Setauket, NY. His artwork is in private collections in Europe and the United States.
