Artist: Jeff Sabol
The serenity of Jeffrey Sabol’s paintings are a reflection of the peaceful place in his soul…the sum parts of years of maritime journeys. As a youth growing up on the Conneticut shoreline, Jeffrey spent countless hours boating. He went on to study architectural design and art, and continued developing his maritime theme in his work. The restlessness of a young man in his twenties brought Jeffrey to Florida, where he had the privilege of studying under renown muralist W. Linzee Prescott of New York. They collaborated on the exterior murals on the International Swimming Hall of Fame in Fr. Lauderdale to commorate the 1976 Bicentennial. Jeffrey also spent several years working as a long line fisherman and shrimper in the Gulf of Mexico. This gave him an added insight into the elements and decided he would much rather paint the sea than work there.
He returned North and has won several awards for his portrayal of life on the water. He is a distinguished member of the American Society of Maritime Artists and will participate in the 14th annual ASMA National Exhibition. This show will travel to five east coast museums. We are honored to have him exhibit with us at the Left Bank Gallery Essex.
