After pondering the question, “What does Nature know that you don’t know?”, I embarked upon a journey to examine the powerful forces that surround all of us.  Initially, I explored the idea of painting vignettes of Nature on canvas as floorcloths.  Indeed, they are enormously satisfying to create yet offer a singular dilemma for many individuals.  They are reluctant to walk on them regardless of their sturdiness.  Thus, I replicated several of the same images on two by five foot fiberboard panels to hang on the wall.  Since making this transition from floor to wall, I have continued to expand upon and paint my two favorite themes – water and, especially, the sky.  The inherent freedom of these two elements allow me to paint in a style I simply call my own.  Brush strokes are recognizable on the board’s surface and color melds within thin veneers of paint or sits in layers more graphically defined to simply delight, inspire, or relax the viewer.   So what does Nature know that you don’t?  Just like water and the sky, that we are eternal.  It is my sincere hope you will find peace and serenity in my developing portfolio.
